RELAX
The series of works, Relax, concentrate on the deviation between the physical existence of space and our cognition of it as humans. In the artist's interpretation, boundary, above all, brings space into realization. During her education in architecture, the artist learned that the perception of space could be manipulated by design strategies, particularly by the creation of boundaries around us. Those perceptual deviations are coupled with a suspicion of awareness and an interest in orienting her works around realism.
By replicating the outlines of recognizable daily objects with reversed texture and separating the tactility with a line of rice, the artist urged the audience to reflect on whether our subjectivity relies on experience. Through those soft, woozy furniture, she gently questioned the fashion of subjective idealism that was nourished by the pandemic.
